Some of the dishes that can be savoured in Montanejos, depending on the season, are the pot, fried pan, stew, homemade preserves, porridge, sausages and artisan products derived from the pig slaughter, chanterelles or robellones which are a kind of mushroom and olive oil.

The typical cuisine of the municipality is characterized by tasty and energetic dishes, necessary for a population living in the hills. Although today these elaborations are going through the sieve of the times, updating and making them more attractive to diners and palates.

As for sweets and desserts, it should be noted shortbread, sweet quince, panquemao (which is a kind of scone), cupcakes, cakes, special cakes made for Easter (monas de pascua), fig bread, sugared almonds (almendras garrapiñadas), “las higas albardás” and “rosigones”.
