This canyon is a place filled up with climbing routes of different heights and international fame which are a great attraction for nature and whitewater sports lovers, since one can do various water activities such as rafting, given that the 25-meter strait and the speed of the water make it ideal for these sports. In the town of Montanejos there are different companies that offer services for those who want to enjoy any of the sports activities that this canyon and its river offer.

The Presa de Cirat (Cirat’s Dam) is located at the bottom part of Los Estrechos, with the aim of diverting the waters from the Mijares to the Cirat hydroelectric power station, thus preventing the cold water from the Mijares from mixing with the thermal water that flows just a few metres downstream at the Fuente de los Baños.
